Jonathan Matkowsky is an attorney, threat-intelligence practitioner, security and technology leader, and technology founder. Over more than 25 years, his work has included defending against online abuse, investigating and attributing adversary infrastructure, domain-threat detection and takeover, dispute resolution, security products and operating programs, governed AI systems, and legal work protecting intangible assets and data.
His career includes founding and leading Matkowsky Law and Maccabim.com Ltd., serving as Vice President of Digital Risk at RiskIQ, and working as a Principal Security Researcher at Microsoft Security. His public work has included cyber threat intelligence, advanced hunting and KQL/Azure Data Explorer analysis, malicious-infrastructure investigation and disruption, domain attribution, online-fraud and abuse enforcement, and analyst-supervised AI-assisted threat-intelligence systems.
Jonathan’s domain-enforcement work includes more than 175 published decisions; the current reconciled inventory covers 992 domain adjudications, with more than 98% favorable outcomes under the approved public formulation. Sixteen included decisions contain express panel findings of common control, and three represented matters account for eight citation placements in WIPO’s Jurisprudential Overview 3.0 and 3.1. He is an inventor or co-inventor on ten issued U.S. patents, four as sole inventor, is licensed as an attorney in New York and Washington, earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School, and is pursuing an M.S. in Cybersecurity at Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering.
